PMR Motorsports showed impressive speed in its return to multi-car competition at this January’s Sno*Drift, the first event on the 2017 Rally America calendar. Despite competing in the Super Production class, both of the team’s entries captured overall stage wins at the event, one of the most challenging stage rally events in North America.

Returning to the sport for the first time in multiple years, Pat Moro set an early tone alongside Ole Holter in the #59 PMR Motorsports SR004. Starting sixth on the road, Moro and Holter won the first stage of the event, Old State-Huff, by almost eight full seconds.

“It was nice to be welcomed back so warmly by all the competitors and fans,” said Moro. “The first stage went as well as it possibly could have—we were incredibly fast, and I think we sent a message that we’re here to win. Unfortunately, the highs and lows of rally were both in play as we had a mechanical failure that knocked us out on the very next stage. But we had a lot of fun, it was great to be back, and this won’t be the last time that Rally America fans see us running this year!”

Not to be outdone, Tim Rooney and Rachelle Kaltak in the #47 PMR Motorsports SR009 added their own stage win on Saturday’s first Super Special, the 10th stage of the 15-leg event. Rooney and Kaltak spent much of the event in the overall top 10, posting competitive times against the Open class cars leading the event and getting faster throughout the weekend.

“By the time we got to the second day of racing, I was having a lot of fun!” Rooney said. “Driving in the snow is always a challenge, but after Friday’s adjustment period, we were in good shape to take on the leaders. It was incredibly gratifying to post the fastest time on the first Super Special, and I can’t wait to get back at it at 100 Acre Wood in March.”

PMR Motorsports’ next event will be Rally in the 100 Acre Wood, held in the foothills of the Missouri Ozarks on March 17-18, 2017. For more information on the event, visit www.100AW.org.
